Elevated Glycated Albumin and Mortality In Type 2 Diabetes Patients on Hemodialysis
A recent journal article published in Clinical Chemistry investigated whether glycated albumin (GA) could be an alternate glycemic control indicator where hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is not a reliable indicator. The article concluded that the increased mortality in type 2 diabetes patients on hemodialysis is associated with high GA measurements. GA was measured at three different time points in 1255 type 2 diabetes patients on hemodialysis.
